A-14-02 short 6 pieces after grave putaway
Assumed — supervisor can edit. Fenyx does not touch finance. Program: Valley Gas.
Restate the miss
A-14-02 counted six pieces light on the Valley Gas 2-inch family the morning after a grave putaway. Nobody is accusing anybody. We are six pieces and one slot apart.
Missing information
- ·Has A-14-03, the retired home slot, been physically walked since the count?
- ·Did the grave putaway scan the slot label or key it from memory?
- ·Was the pallet broken down mid-aisle while the counter was already in the aisle?
Assumptions
- ·Unit cost $62 a piece, assumed — supervisor can edit.
- ·Valley Gas chargeback $1,850 if a short ships against this program.
- ·A-14-03 has not been walked yet, so the pieces are still presumed on site.
Smallest process steps
- 1Walk A-14-03 and the two bins either side of it.
- 2Pull the grave putaway scan trail for lot HT-4471.
- 3Compare the slot label on the rack against the slot in the system of record.
- 4Only then decide whether anything gets adjusted in the WMS.
Walk the chain
Slot drift, method, and timing come before theft. Every time.
A-14 was the old home for this family. Muscle memory beats a new label every time, especially at 3am. Six pieces in the wrong bin reads exactly like this.
Partial case staged on the floor while the counter walked the bin. Counted what was in the bin, not what was in the aisle.
Vendor case pack on this family is six. A six-piece gap is one case. Worth a look at the receipt UOM before anything else.
Six low-value fittings out of a locked DC, with a retired slot twenty feet away and a 3am putaway on record. Walk the rack before anyone says the word.

Self-critique and one revision
Weakest link: we are assuming the count itself was clean. If Priya counted during an active replenishment the whole variance could be timing, not drift.
RevisionAdded to step 1 — check the replen queue timestamp for A-14 against the count timestamp before walking anything.
Fenyx does not post this to SAP. The adjustment decision stays with the supervisor.
